JivenDirect is a six-piece group based in Central California. Founder Damon Castillo, guitarist and lead vocalist, has brought together musicians from accomplished musical backgrounds to create a new jazz/funk-infused pop sound with infectious, danceable grooves and intriguing lyrics. JivenDirect's appeal is apparent in the impressive diversity of their audience. Fans of modern rock, AAA, CHR, Modern Adult Contemporary and Alternative Rock formats attend the band's consistently sold-out shows. The band was voted Best Band in Central California by the students of California Polytechnic State University in 1999, and won first place in Ernie Ball's Battle of the Bands 1999 Central California competition.
